Mission
When a lawyer asked Jesus what was the most important commandment, Jesus replied “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbour as yourself.” (Matthew 22: 37-39)
We want people to know about God’s love for them – whether they are in our local community or on the other side of the world!
We support a number of charities and organisations through church involvement, advocacy, prayer, financial and members of the church family volunteering their time.
Currently in and around Basingstoke our two churches support:
- St Mark’s School through our close relationships at Immanuel Church
- St Michael’s Hospice through a financial donation and church members volunteer their time
- The Camrose Centre through a financial donation
- Buckingham Court and Dashwood Manor through regular prayer and practical support
- Trussell Trust – Basingstoke Foodbank through donations of food and money
- Basingstoke Town Chaplaincy through prayer and an annual donation
- Christians Against Poverty by running CAP Money Coaching
- Read-Easy through prayer and volunteering.
And in the wider world:
- Christian Hope International by regularly collecting donations
- Stop the Traffik by advocating and supporting their campaigns
- The Children’s Society through the collection at our Christingle Service
We have particular links through members of our church community with:
We sponsor over 70 children in the village of Kiugu in Kenya and have visited the project twice. Alongside this there are individual children sponsored in other parts of the world. Find out about their work here.
