Garden tomb with stone rolled away bathed in sunlight Garden tomb with stone rolled away bathed in sunlight

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone that got involved in all our services over Lent and Easter. For those who served in whatever capacity and those who attended in person or online. May you feel blessed as we navigate this Easter season.

Please also pray that we continue to feel the wonder and surprise of Easter morning. You may wish to continue to pray this prayer from last week’s newsletter.

A prayer on meeting Jesus afresh this Easter.

The Easter story is so familiar

that I have lost the sense of surprise,

the shock,

the feeling that the world has been turned upside down,

which Mary and Peter must have experienced that morning.

What was it like to spend time with Jesus?

What was it like to find his tomb empty?

Do such strong, deep emotions enter into my relationship with Jesus?

What about the knowledge that Jesus is alive again,

that my sins are forgiven,

that I have been set free from all that threatens to prevent me from becoming whole?

Are these just beliefs (or pious hopes) in my head,

or do they spill out into my life,

into the person I am in the world?

Lord, this Easter,

come to me afresh

in your risen glory and power.

Amen.
