Friendly telephone calls from volunteers available this winter

If you or someone you know could use a friendly voice and a listening ear, Check in and Chat volunteer calls can be requested through the NHS and Care Volunteer Responders Programme.

Volunteers are available to provide one-off or regular calls. They can call you at a time and day that suits you, and will be happy to chat to you over the phone about anything you like! The service is free, and is open 8am-8pm, 7 days a week.

Arranging a volunteer call is easy, just contact the Support Team on 0808 196 3646 and let them know when you would like your calls and they will take care of everything for you, alternatively visit https://nhscarevolunteerresponders.org/id-like-support.

This service is open to everyone.

Anyone can refer someone they think might benefit from the above service, or you can self refer.

How to make a referral
Making a referral is quick and easy:

3. Let people know that they can self-refer into the programme
   by calling the helpline on 0808 196 3646
   Please ensure that you have permission before making a referral on behalf of
